In my view this is a project which should never have got through the ideas stage.
So it’s going to help commuters get to work slightly earlier at, no doubt,a far greater cost.
Would this project have been considered if the proposed route was, say, from Liverpool to Scarborough, Manchester to Birmingham etc. I think not!
